Will Girling is a professional sports nutritionist, amateur endurance cyclist, sports writer, and when he meets this challenge, he will be a World Record holder.
To achieve his goal he will need to cycle 240 miles a day (16 hours) and travel from Tarifa in Spain to the North Cape in Norway.
The current Tour D’Europe record stands at 21 days, 14 hours and 23 minutes and was set in July 2015.
As well as gaining the official World Record, Will has 2 other objectives; to challenge stereotypes and prove you can achieve your goals in spite of preconceptions, and to raise £25,000 for Asthma UK.
Will works as a nutritionist with a range of both amateur and professional athletes, including the cycling team ‘ONE Pro Cycling’. He has worked with Team GB at the Invictus Games, aiding injured service men and women to get the most from themselves in sport.
His credentials in nutrition and understanding of food have led him to feature on Jamie Oliver’s Food Tube, as well as having his own column in Cycling Plus magazine for the last two years.
